All the style of a British roadster, and ALL THE RELIABILITY

PostFri Feb 24, 2012 5:51 pm

Here's my stupid-assed hooptie: a 2000 Mazda Miata. Basically stock, except for a full Mazdaspeed suspension and some interior bits. It's a ton of fun and I love it, and it's a great daily driver too. Oh, and it doesn't like to start sometimes. British charm lives!

I bought it with the wheels and the stripe, by the way. It's a "60s FIA stripe," according to the last owner. I dig it. It's also a light blue taken from a 70s Land Rover, which means it's the automotive equivalent of living on an Indian burial ground.

Here's some photos of it taken by my coworker at Automotive.com (plug!):

And here's me driving across the country:

I dig the stripe and I love the wheels.

I really like as the pictures progress, how the front wheels seem to get progressively dirtier. It tells the story of a roadtrip with a lot of aggressive mountain driving. I'm jealous. :D

That looks pretty good with the strip and the minilite style wheels add a fair bit different. The fact your kept the centre caps gives it some 60's Roadster looks 8-)

I definitely dig the stripe. Very different from normal!
